Les Stubbs

Les is one of the most senior and experienced family lawyers in Sydney, having practiced extensively in the family law field for more than 40 years. In 2023 Les achieved 30 years as an accredited specialist in family law, being one of the first lawyers accredited in NSW.

Les’ decades of experience in family law, property law and financial matters enables him to provide tailored and accurate advice to ensure practical and cost-effective outcomes for his clients. He has a reputation for excelling in complex and “tough” cases while delivering solutions with empathy and understanding.

With accreditation of more than 20 years, Les is also one of the most experienced family law mediators in Sydney. In addition, he is a registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) authorized by the Commonwealth Attorney-General to conduct mediations and issue s601 Certificates in parenting disputes. Mediation is now a compulsory and critical component of family law practice that with his extensive experience Les is best able to assist with.

Les was named in 2025’s Doyles Guide’s Recommended Family Law Mediators in NSW. This recognition places Les among an elite group of just 20 mediators across NSW, highlighting his expertise, professionalism and dedication. Notably, only a handful of those recognised are actively practicing as lawyers – something many practitioners value when seeking a mediator who will truly understand the legal and personal considerations of their clients.
