Cheryl was admitted as a solicitor in 2009 and has been practising family law primarily. She previously worked in the area of Conveyancing and Leasing, Wills and Estates and Commercial Litigation.
Cheryl speaks five languages, including Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese and French. Her broad experience in other areas of law and her language skills enable her to understand her family law clients with different social, economical and ethnic backgrounds.
Cheryl provides family law advice to married and de facto couples in relation to financial and parenting disputes and assists them to achieve settlement through negotiations.
Cheryl also advises clients on using alternative dispute resolutions to resolve their differences and attends conciliation conferences and mediations with clients.
Where parties are unable to reach an agreement through negotiation, Cheryl is also experienced in litigation in the Family Court and the Federal Circuit Court of Australia. She is involved in the pre-trial preparation, court attendance at procedural hearings and instructing counsel at final hearing.
